Get Admitted to the Program

All incoming students must be employed full-time with CenturyLink and must contact CenturyLink coordinator, Kathy Markano, for permission to join the program.

All incoming students must submit official copies of their undergraduate transcripts to the Graduate School.

Any credentials still missing by the end of the first complete term of enrollment will result in no graduate credit being issued and an official Tech transcript will not be provided to the student. No further enrollment will be permitted.

Failure to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information will be grounds to deny or withdraw your admission, or to dismiss you after enrollment.  The same actions will occur if you fail to notify the Graduate Admissions office promptly in writing of any changes that occur in your information at any time after you submit the application.

U.S. Citizen Requirements

Minimum admission standards are established by the Graduate Council and the University of Louisiana System for Louisiana Tech University. Graduate School applicants must satisfy all general admission requirements. Each college has the prerogative to be more selective and to establish higher standards. Admission deadlines may vary by degree program. Each student is responsible for becoming knowledgeable about Graduate School policies and procedures. Specific program requirements are published in the University Catalog.

A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.25 is required for conditional admission.

International Requirements

A four-year degree is required for conditional admission.

A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.25 is required for conditional admission.

In addition to the general admission requirements, international applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency. The student's proficiency in the English language is essential to his/her successful performance at the University.

A student seeking graduate admission must submit a TOEFL minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 80(internet-based). The official score must be sent from the Educational Testing Center (ETS) and cannot be more than two years old. TOEFL scores older than two years are not accepted. Information about TOEFL test dates and cost can be obtained directly from the ETS website www.ets.org or by writing Educational Testing Center, Princeton, NJ, USA, 08540.

Students may submit IELTS minimum test score of 6.5 (over 4 modules) in place of TOEFL test scores. The official score must be sent from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and will be verified as official. Also, international students have the option to attend the ELS Language Center located on the Louisiana Tech campus in Ruston, Louisiana. By enrolling in and successfully completing an ELS Level 112 intensive course, international students can meet the English language proficiency requirement.

If neither score is available, the student may have a supervisor submit a written endorsement of the student's proficiency in the English language.

Each applicant must assume the initiative of determining and meeting the test requirements for a specific degree program. Official test scores must be on file in the Graduate School at least 30 days in advance of registration for the session in which the student expects to enroll.
